Certification

Consumers can trust Maki Solar products because we have made it our commitment to have them meet certain standards. Our products all go through a rigorous process of testing and development to ensure that their quality is high enough to meet the standards necessary for relevant types of certification.

CE mark is a mandatory European marking for certain product groups to indicate that the conform with the essential health and safety requirements set out in European Directives. The letters 'CE' are an abbreviation of "Conformite Europeenne", French for European conformity.

SGS is one of the world's largest inspection companies with offices in nearly every country. They inspect goods for quality, quantity etc., and they also certify that goods meet various government or industry standards.

The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.

IP (Ingress Protection) numbers are used to specify the environmental protection afforded by enclosures. These ratings refer to specific tests and are composed of two numbers. The first number refers to protection from solid objects, and the second is the protection from liquids.
